You will no doubt be aware of the Earthquake last Friday with it’s epicentre in Myanmar and affecting other countries in that part of the world.
The latest information from an email I received today says …
On Friday 28th March 2025, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar. Strong tremors were felt hundreds of miles away in Thailand and south-west China. Twelve minutes after the first earthquake hit Myanmar, a second struck at a recorded magnitude of 6.4.
These earthquakes have left at least 2,700 dead and many thousands injured. The Kyaukse Kinta Dam has burst in Mandalay causing flooding in lowland areas and there is a nationwide power outage. Many people saw their homes destroyed or badly damaged and access to vital services such as water, power and basic foods have been critically disrupted.
You may already have reached out to support the work of organisations seeking to bring help to those in need.
Below are links to three organisations that as a church family and a wider denomination that we would support.

Do take time to pray - below is a prayer from Christian Aid or click HERE to read ‘5 ways to prayer for Myanmar’ from Open Doors.
God, our strength and our refuge
We pray to you for the people of Myanmar.
We hold in mind those who are injured or have been bereaved.
We ask your protection for everyone awaiting rescue.
May those who have lost homes and belongings be comforted.
May emergency workers and medical staff be safe as they pour their energy
Into saving the lives of others.
May the international community respond quickly to support those affected.
God, our strength and our refuge,
Be with our global neighbours today.
Amen.
