In our service today we paused and through the reading of scripture (Psalm 142) and prayer we lamented. We took time to pour out our hearts and speak honestly with God about how we were finding our current situation. We appealed for God’s mercy and grace and reminded ourselves of who God is in the midst of difficult days.

Below are two songs that I encourage you to listen to as we continue this theme of lament.

Mercy Ships - A New Year. A New Beginning.

As we enter the new year, we hope you welcome it with great joy, knowing that the lives of so many have been transformed. Because of supporters like you, we were able to accomplish amazing things in 2020, despite it being a challenging year for everyone.
Last year, with your help, our volunteers were able to perform 869 surgeries, serve 5,597 dental patients, mentor and train over 766 doctors and nurses before the Africa Mercy left Senegal.
So many lives were changed during this time, and we are looking forward to the many more lives that will be touched as we return to Senegal later this year.

DON’T FORGET TO KEEP YOUR STAMPS UNTIL WE RETURN TO CHURCH

As Christmas cards start to come through your door this year we are asking you to join us in collecting your used stamps for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) The RNIB is one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities and a number of people from our church family have benefited from their work. Simply cut stamps off any letters or cards you receive but make sure you leave 1cm of envelope or packaging around each stamp. It helps if you can separate British from foreign stamps. Collect your stamps at home and in January, we will let you know a couple of dates when you can bring them to church. RNIB raises £20 for every kilogram of stamps. You can visit their website https://www.rnib.org.uk/ to read more about the work they do.

We are using Paul’s prayer for the church in Philippi as our own prayer for each other in our church family here in Islandmagee. Click the picture below to find the prayer and guide for your own personal time with God. Let’s be faithful and persistent in praying for each other.
