17th March is not just the birthday of a father and daughter in our church family it is also St Patrick’s day. Why not click the link below and take the opportunity to watch a video on the life of St Patrick.
The New Irish Choir & Orchestra presented an online concert from St Anne’s Cathedral last night. It is a musical production called ‘Patrick’ narrating the story of the great Irish Saint with stories and music. This event is completely free.
You can still sign up to watch the 90 mins concert. It does require setting up an account etc but from the short section I watched this morning I think it could be well worth it.
Last week I mentioned the International Meeting Point in regards to thanking everyone for their generous donations to their foodbank. As you can read in our Easter Magazine we hope to do a further collection in April to support their work.
I received a video about the work of the international meeting point this week. Click below to find out more and to hear from those involved in the ministry.
In our service today we watched a video from Open Doors about Amina from Nigeria. To find out more about Amina, the work of Open Doors and how you can support their work please click below.
In these days of lockdown and not being able to meet together we would like to encourage you (if possible) to consider setting up a financial standing order to either of our congregations. Information about this can be found on our announcements page. www.islandmageepc.org/announcements
We of course understand that your financial situation may have changed and would like to support you if we can. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Peter. (07795694499)
During Lent and in the weeks before Easter we hope to journey together as a church family and have opportunities for us to reflect upon our walk with Jesus and the significance of the Easter events in each of our lives.
We want to begin this walk together through weekly prayer meetings beginning on Wednesday 10rd March at 7.30pm over zoom
I would love you join us for that. There will be no pressure to pray and I hope and pray it will be an encouraging time in which we get to spend time together and pray together.
Watch out for the email later in the week with how you can connect through zoom. Please contact Peter (07795694499) if you have any questions about zoom. If you have a tablet, computer or phone it really is just a couple of clicks away.
As we continue to journey through Lent you might want to have a look at some resources / guides that you might find helpful as you seek to take time to focus on God and your daily walk with Jesus.
